Recognising Dr Peter Carter OBE and 75 Years of the NHS
Last week we celebrated the 75th anniversary of the NHS.
The “Nursing Times has compiled a list of 75 nurses and midwives who have contributed in a significant way to the service or are rising stars.” We couldn’t be prouder of our trustee and previous CEO of the Royal College of Nursing, Dr. Peter Carter OBE as he was recognised for making an outstanding impact for the NHS and named as one of the top 75 people to have done so.
We spoke to (an extremely busy) Peter:
“I was deeply touched and proud to get the call from The Nursing Times to give me this recognition along with many other nurses as part of their NHS 75: Making an Impact List. The NHS is a great institution, but it does need to reform and face up to its challenges such as lifestyle illnesses, delayed discharges, care of the elderly and end-of-life care.
It’s a privilege to be a trustee of the Anne Robson Trust who provide much-needed services.”
It’s an honour for us to have such an inspiring and influential trustee for our charity and we are so proud of all of the work Peter has done and our impact working with the NHS. In 2023 alone, we’ve started working in partnership with 5 new NHS sites to set up teams of end-of-life volunteers.
Below are some highlights from working in partnership with our National Health Service over the past six months. Thank you to all those who keep her running!
