Alex Watson
Freelance Trainer
Having had a long and varied career related to her studies in modern languages and working in theatre, Alex has worked in many professional areas ranging from teaching and translation to hospitality and events. Personal life events changed this when she became the family carer for her parents and aunt as they came to the end of their lives. This inspired her to take a new direction and specialist training in end-of-life care.
Since being on this path for the last 12 years Alex has worked in care homes and in the community as a care worker, soul midwife and end-of-life doula offering elder and dementia care and non-medical supportive end-of-life care. She is also a Butterfly Volunteer at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital, where the service was set up in partnership with the Anne Robson Trust.

Wendy Letham
Freelance Trainer
Wendy has spent the last 35 years working in palliative care, mostly in south east London, leading multidisciplinary teams in hospices, and the NHS, working with patients and families in their own their homes, at hospital, in care homes and in hospices.
Once qualified she soon realised that those who most benefited from nursing were the patients who had life limiting or end stage illnesses. That realisation drew her towards working in palliative and end of life care and she went to work at a hospice, then moved back to an NHS hospital to bring hospice practices such as symptom management, psychosocial care and care of the dying back into the mainstream of healthcare. This allowed her the opportunity to teach nurses and doctors on the general wards, skills sharing being an integral element of palliative care.
Experiences in her career, particularly witnessing loneliness in dying on hospital wards in recent years, resonate with the aims of the Anne Robson Trust.
Having retired recently Wendy now has more time for following her favourite football team, enjoying the natural environment and has been able to pick up her paintbrush and sketch book again.
