A Heartwarming Visit to the Butterfly Hub at Princess Alexandra Hospital

We recently had the pleasure of visiting the Butterfly Hub at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow, and we can't stop thinking about it… 🦋

From the moment we stepped in, the atmosphere was warmth and comfort. It’s a cosy oasis, with a beautiful stained-glass window and calming colours that instantly make you feel at ease. It’s not hard to spot the butterfly theme!

What we love most about the Butterfly Hub is that it’s not a clinical setting and is a real contrast to the rest of the hospital. It is a safe space for families going through tough times, with comfy spots to have a quiet moment with a cup of tea. There are also helpful leaflets and information dotted around.

Well done to Nicki and her team for designing such a lovely space. Our visit was heart-warming, and the hub is great inspiration for any other trusts looking to take their End of Life Volunteering Service to the next step.
