Charity Ambassadors

Our ambassadors help us open up conversations about death, dying and the importance of compassion at the end of life. They are people who, through their work and lived experience, understand how isolating death and dying can be, and why kindness, reassurance and human presence matter so deeply.

Current ambassadors

Dr Emeka Okorocha

Dr Emeka is an NHS doctor who became widely known during the Covid-19 lockdowns for his calm, clear and relatable health education.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr Emeka continues to speak openly about health, care and the realities people face behind the headlines. His support for the Anne Robson Trust reflects a shared belief that compassion and presence are essential parts of care, particularly when someone is approaching the end of their life.

“As a doctor, I see first-hand how difficult it can be when someone is dying. Patients may spend long hours alone, and families, however much they care, can’t always be there every moment. The Anne Robson Trust understands this reality. Through healthcare partners’ volunteers, they offer companionship and comfort to people at the end of life, while also giving families reassurance and peace of mind during an incredibly hard time.”

Dr Hilary Jones MBE

Dr Hilary Jones has been a familiar presence on our screens for decades, often alongside people at moments of worry, uncertainty and change.

Through a career spent close to patients and families, he has seen how important calm, reassurance and human connection can be, particularly when conversations turn difficult.

His support for The Anne Robson Trust reflects a shared belief in dignity, kindness and presence when someone is dying and those close to them are navigating an incredibly hard time.

"I’m proud to be an ambassador for the Anne Robson Trust and the difference their work makes. Through Butterfly Volunteers, people who are dying, and their families, are offered companionship, comfort and reassurance at a time when it matters most. Their presence helps people feel less alone, and allows them to be cared for with dignity, kindness and peace.”

Why their voice matters

Our ambassadors support the work we do by helping to raise awareness and open up conversations about death and dying. They are not involved in delivering services, but lend their voices to help others understand why companionship at the end of life matters.

We’re grateful for the support of our ambassadors and look forward to welcoming others over time who share our commitment to compassion and companionship at the end of life.
