Miles that Matter is our September fundraising challenge. Take part wherever you are - choose your distance, set your fundraising target and make every mile matter!
What is Miles that Matter?
Welcome to our September fundraising challenge.
Take part wherever you are this September. Whether you walk a mile a day, take on an epic cycle challenge or rack up your miles in the pool - create a challenge that feels meaningful to you.
It’s not about being the fastest or going the furthest. It’s about taking on a challenge that’s personal to you – it could be becoming more active, spending time with friends and family or remembering someone close to you.
Last year:
Abbey and Theo cycled and ran 255 miles in memory of their grandmas who had died that year, the distance between where their grandmas lived.
Mick took part in Miles that Matter throughout September as part of his half marathon training, sponsored by his company Own Homes.
Kate set herself the challenge of walking 5k a day, instead of using public transport.

Why your miles matter
The funds you raise will help us work with hospitals and community healthcare organisations to set up and run teams of Butterfly Volunteers, who give their time to sit with people who are dying.
Your miles will make the world of difference, helping someone who is dying to receive the companionship of a Butterfly Volunteer so they are not alone, and supporting patients’ families during one of life’s hardest moments.
By taking part in Miles that Matter, you’ll be helping this vital work take place at the bedside of people across the country, when they need it most.
What will I get when I take part?
Support from our team to set your personal challenge and smash your goals
Hints and tips to help you reach your fundraising target
A mile tracker sheet or support using tracking apps
An Anne Robson Trust t-shirt to wear with pride during your challenge (optional for a small donation)
