Richard Gill has been retired since April 2017, after a lengthy and successful 35 year career in the Financial Services industry.
Educated at Repton School, Richard began his career with the National Westminster Bank in Sheffield on their Management programme in 1982, quickly moving to London, where he continued on the programme before moving to Barclays Bank to join their Foreign Exchange Division at the beginning of 1986.
After completing senior FX Trading roles at both Barclays and First National Bank of Chicago, Richard joined the Bank of New York in 1995, as Head of the FX Trading team in London. During his 22 year tenure at BNY,latterly to merge into BNY Mellon, Richard served as Head of FX Trading in EMEA, then Global Head of FX Trading, Senior Global Markets officer in Europe and finally, Head of the Markets Division in EMEA.
Richard was a member of the EMEA Executive team at BNY Mellon, as well as the Global and EMEA Operating committee for the Company and sat on the Board of Directors of CAML, the Bank’s capital markets business in Europe.
He was also a long serving member of the Bank of England FX Joint Standing Committee and the FICC Markets Standards Board Advisory Council.
Richard is married with two daughters and lives in Hitchin, Hertfordshire.
