Sarah has a diverse career background working in the commercial and public sector.
After graduating from Manchester and working in hospitality management in London leading events for Imagination a world-famous events company. Sarah moved with her husband to live in Singapore for 6 years.
Whilst there she worked as an account director for Asia’s largest independent advertising network, working across Asia Pacific, on a mixture of local and international brands like Visa International.
Once back in the UK and after her children were born, Sarah worked for Kings College Student Union in Student Services. Her role was to support students manage over 200 societies, sporting teams and volunteering projects.
Her son was diagnosed with high functioning autism which made formal working rather a challenge. Instead Sarah began to volunteer. Her first volunteering role was at a community in South London that looks after adults with long term disabilities and severe learning disabilities. Supporting the community members to fulfil paid work in their candle workshop, weaving workshop and garden project.
Upon relocating to Hertfordshire Sarah has volunteered for several years as an advisor at Citizens Advice in Stevenage and as a team member supporting Autism Angels South. Sarah continues to volunteer as a Registered Speaker for the charity, Dogs for Good.
Sarah believes strongly in the partnership between social purpose and community action, so that we can deal with many of the challenges facing communities around the UK.
