Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital elevates patient care with Palliative Services

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) is making significant strides in compassionate healthcare by expanding its support to palliative patients, via their Butterfly Volunteer service.

The Butterfly Volunteer service, now part of NNUH’s palliative care framework, represents a significant step towards a more compassionate and patient-centred healthcare model. Caroline Stevens, the Butterfly Coordinator at the trust, has already recruited an additional 20 volunteers to support  palliative patients. This means she has an impressive 50+ volunteers in her arsenal.

The expansion aims to strengthen the emotional support offered to patients, emphasising a more holistic approach to healthcare, prioritising patient dignity and well-being.
