Whilst Jo & her husband, Paul, were having afternoon tea at The House of Lords (yes, really!) by invitation of our esteemed Patron, Dr Peter Carter, we had a very good meeting in the Lecture Theatre, Parndon Hall, Princess Alexandra Hospital, on a sunny afternoon in early June. We missed you Jo!
Fourteen of our team (see photo) joined Anne Robson Trust Trustee Janie, and I, to talk about experiences they have had visiting patients, and listen to a fascinating talk by Helen Kennedy, Bereavement Officer at PAH. We learnt all about her role, and how she and her colleague look after bereaved relatives on a daily basis. Quite a job – and clearly she is extremely good at it!
We had a visit from another Patron, Professor Nancy Fontaine, Chief Nurse at PAH, at the beginning of our meeting, and I was able to let everyone know that, very sadly, Nancy is leaving PAH in July, to go to Norfolk & Norwich NHS Trust. Their gain is very much our loss. We will miss you Nancy! Shahid Sardar, Lead for Patient Experience at PAH also joined us, as did Sarah Jones, Palliative Care CNS, hot foot from another meeting – it always amazes me how much support we receive from the staff at PAH. It makes such a huge difference.
I think the photo says it all. A very jolly group of people looking fabulous in their ART polo shirts!
Next meeting is on July 11th 2018
